Means "waving one" in Old Norse. Sveigðir was a legendary Swedish king, son of Fjǫlnir and father of Vanlandi. He appears in the epic works 'Heimskringla' and 'Ynglinga saga' written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. Sveigðir also appears in the 9th century poem 'Ynglingatal', possibly written by the Norwegian skald Þjóðólfr ór Hvini.
