Meaning
Compound name composed of the prefix su- (good) and dasa (servant, slave): hence, “a good servant.” According to historical accounts, Sudas was the grandson of the great Bharata Divodas. He led the indigenous people during the Battle of Ten Kings (one of the earliest events recorded in Indian history), which brought about the integration of the Aryan and nonAryan races on the Gangetic plains of India.
