Usage:
Meanings: Variant of Sharada, which is from the Sanskrit sarada (mature, ripe). The name was borne by Sharda Devi, the wife of spiritual leader Ramakrishna. At the age of five, she was wed to Ramakrishna in an unsuccessful effort to draw his attention away from religious involvement. Ramakrishna taught her spiritual matters and the samadhi (self-realization), and in time, actually worshiped her as the divine mother. Sharda Devi was known as the Holy Mother, and along with the devotee Vivekananda, carried on Ramakrishna’s message after his death. (SHAR-DAH)
