Seraph Name meanings & History
Seraph means "burning one" or "fiery serpent" in Hebrew. In religious texts, seraphim are depicted as angels with six wings who surround the throne of God. From the English word seraph, singular form of the biblical word seraphim referring to an order of angels (see Seraphina, Seraphim). This was borne by Seraph Frissell (1840-1915), an American physician and medical writer who specialized in diseases of women and children. Seraph is primarily used as a first name for boys, but it can also be used as a last name.
