Quliang Name meanings & History
Quliang is a combination of two Chinese characters - "Qu" which means "dusty" or "muddy," and "Liang" which means "bright" or "good." Therefore, the name Quliang is often interpreted as "bright and pure.". From the Chinese character 渠 (qu) meaning “canal” and (liang) meaning “bridge; roof beam”.This was the personal name of Duke Xiao of Qin (秦孝公), a ruler of the state of Qin during the Chinese Warring States Period (475 - 221 BCE). During his reign the Legalist reforms of Shang Yang (商鞅) were instituted, which transformed Qin into a highly efficient military state and laid the groundwork for the Qin unification of China six generations later. The name Quliang is mostly used in China, with limited usage in other parts of the world.
