Uncertain, but believed to be a Quenya (Elvish) name meaning "Golden King". Derived from the Adûnaic word pharaz, meaning "gold". In The Silmarillion, Ar-Pharazôn (King Pharazôn) was the name of the last king of Númenor and the husband and usurper of Miriel. Ar-Pharazôn brought Sauron to Númenor. Later he assailed Valinor and caused the Downfall of Númenor. Pharazôn is primarily used as a literary name, inspired by Tolkien's character.
