Finnish form of Oithona. This form was used by Finnish poet and author J. L. Runeberg in his epic Kung Fjalar ("King Fjalar", 1844). A famous bearer was Elin Oihonna Kallio (née Waenerberg, 1859–1927), a celebrated pioneering Finnish gymnast and the founder of the women’s gymnastic movement in Finland.
