Nympha Name meanings & History
Nympha means "bride" or "maiden" in Greek mythology. It was also used to refer to a type of forest spirit or nymph. Variant of Nymphe (as well as the usual Latinized form). This name is mentioned briefly by Paul in his epistle to the Colossians in the New Testament, though it is uncertain whether it refers to a woman Nympha or a man Nymphas. The name was later borne by an obscure 4th-century saint possibly from Palermo, Sicily. Nympha is primarily used as a first name for baby girls.
