Usage/Origins
Meaning
A name of uncertain meaning. According to Norse mythology, Konur was the youngest son of Jarl and Erna, the progenitors of the ruling and warrior classes. Little is known about him, other than that he was exceedingly remarkable. He was as strong as eight men, could speak with animals, calm stormy seas, and ease troubled hearts. He or one of his descendants is said to have been the first king of Denmark. (KONE-UR)
