This name combines 十 (ji', juu, ju', to, too) meaning "ten" or 重 (juu, chou, e, omo, omo.i, omo.ri, kasa.naru, kasa.neru) meaning "heap up, heavy, pile up" with 兵衛 (bee) (see Hyōe).One famous bearer of this name was Jūbē (Jūbei) Mitsuyoshi Yagyū (柳生 十兵衞 三厳) (1607-1650), one of the most famous & romanticised samurai in Japan's feudal era.This name was most commonly used in the Edo Period (1603-1868) but nowadays, it is very rarely given to boys, if given at all.
