Histiaea was the name of a city on the island of Euboea in ancient Greece. In Greek mythology, Histiaea was also the name of a nymph who was the mother of the first king of Euboea. Latinized form of Histiaia. In Greek mythology, the nymph Histiaea was one of the daughters of Hyrieus. The ancient town of Histiaea (later called Oreum) in northern Euboea was named in her honour. Histiaea is not commonly used as a name for babies.
