Garm
Garm Name meanings & History
One who guards the entrance to the realm of the dead. Means "rag" in Old Norse. In Norse mythology this is the name of a blood-stained hellhound (occasionally considered identical to Fenrir) who guards Hel's gate. In the Poetic Edda his howling heralds the coming of Ragnarök. In the Prose Edda he will fight Týr at Ragnarök and each will kill the other. Garm is primarily used as a name for pets or fictional characters, rather than for human babies.
