Atymnius
Atymnius Name meanings & History
Latinized form of Greek Ἀτύμνιος (Atymnios), of which the meaning is fairly uncertain. It may be a compound name that consists of the Greek negative prefix ἄ- (a-) combined with Greek τυμνία (tumnia) or (tymnia) meaning "rod, stick, wand". The latter might be an Anatolian loanword, as this word also exists in the Carian and Lycian languages, with the same meaning. In Greek mythology, Atymnius was a son of Cassiopeia, either by her husband king Phoenix or by the god Zeus.
